Meet some of the faces behind Simply Hire

There are lots of moving parts in a day for the Simply Hire team. Bookings, customer calls, deliveries and collections, events, accounts – and plenty happening behind the scenes too.

And behind all of it are people.

We’ve been introducing some of the team on our social channels recently, so we thought we’d bring a few of them together here and share some of the things you might not know about the faces behind Simply Hire.

At the end of the phone

If you’ve called Simply Hire, you may already have spoken to Sydney, Laila or Eloise.

Sydney is one of our Customer Experience Agents and says the thing she enjoys most about her job is the team because “they’re all friends”. Her three words for the workplace are uplifting, motivating and fun.

She’s a classic tea drinker – milk and sugar – a serial Friends rewatcher and gave us possibly the most appropriate Simply Hire fun fact of the lot: the first film she ever saw at the cinema was Flushed Away.

You really couldn’t make it up.

Laila is also one of our Customer Experience Agents, and it’s the mix of people and customers that she loves most:

“I love that I get to spend my workdays with my besties while also speaking to customers and building genuine relationships with them.”

She describes the team as fun, supportive and energetic, is a caramel latte fan and is currently watching Baddies.

And her unexpected fact? She’s never broken a bone.

Eloise, our Senior Customer Experience Agent, also puts the people she works with at the top of her list. She says the team makes it easier to get up and come into work every day, describing them as dedicated, supportive and fun.

And something you might not know about Eloise? She has a shoe and trainer collection so big that even she couldn’t tell us how many pairs she owns.

Looking after our customers

Heading up Customer Experience and Sales is Simon, who particularly enjoys working directly with customers and seeing their positive reactions to working with Simply Hire.

His three words for the team are organised, happy and caring.

He starts the day with a flat white – never more than one – and away from Simply Hire he’s also a qualified football referee.

Out and about

A big part of Simply Hire happens out on the road.

Issa is one of our Service Drivers and enjoys “the independence of working by myself and managing my own time”. He describes the team as friendly, reliable and professional.

His coffee is black. His belt is too.

Yes, Issa has a black belt in karate.

Fellow Service Driver Colin is firmly tea all day long and says what he appreciates most about his job is “the trust and support shown to me by my employers”.

Away from work, Colin has been a volunteer grassroots football coach for more than 40 years, working with children and giving his time to the game he loves.

Oh, and he used to be a DJ in Ayia Napa.

We probably should have asked what his DJ name was.

Events, accounts and everything in between

Dan works in Event Operations and enjoys “facing new challenges every day and organising events”. He describes the team as fun, hardworking and funny.

While most of the team gave us their tea or coffee order, Dan went in a different direction: Red Bull.

Away from events, you’ll often find him enjoying the countryside.

Sandra works in Accounts Sales/Purchase Ledger and enjoys speaking to different people on the phone and resolving queries. Although she works independently, she says the team in the office are “a pleasure to work beside”.

Outside work, Sandra certainly keeps busy: she plays darts, loves F1, is a committee member of a registered charity in Rainham and enjoys walking the dog.

Which probably explains why there isn’t much time left for box sets.

And we couldn’t leave these two out…

Dave and Charlie are our four-legged Chief Happiness Officers.

Their responsibilities include greeting everyone at the door, supervising snack breaks and making sure nobody gets too much work done without giving them some attention first.

Their three words for the team?

Generous. Friendly. Snack-givers.

They also firmly believe every delivery driver who arrives has come specifically to see them.

We’re not going to tell them otherwise.

The people behind Simply Hire

These are just some of the people who make up the Simply Hire team, and we’ve loved sharing a little more about the people behind the job titles.                                                                                                                   

A black belt. A former Ayia Napa DJ. A football referee. A serious shoe collection. Darts, F1, grassroots football, countryside walks, endless episodes of Friends – and two dogs keeping an eye on everyone.

Different people, different roles and plenty of different personalities.

But there are a few words that keep cropping up when they talk about each other: friendly, supportive, fun, caring and reliable.

And we think that says quite a lot about the people behind Simply Hire.

Because whether they’re answering the phone, looking after a customer, out on the road, organising an event or keeping everything running behind the scenes, they’re all part of what makes Simply, Simply.
