Sunshine, sell-outs and seriously busy loos: what a summer!

If summer 2026 had a soundtrack at Simply Hire, it would probably be ringing phones, reversing vans, festival music in the distance and the general buzz of a team having one seriously busy summer.

And what a summer it’s been.

Hot doesn’t quite cover it. Summer 2026 was officially the UK’s warmest on record, even beating the legendary summer of 1976. And while the temperatures were breaking records, Team Simply was busy having one of its biggest summers too.

From festivals and live music to sporting events, race days, summer camps, outdoor performances, pop-up cinemas and events in parks and green spaces, we’ve been out and about across London and the South East helping keep summer moving.

Behind every great event…

There are a lot of things an event-goer never needs to think about.

That’s exactly how it should be.

Behind the scenes, our team is working with organisers on everything from standard event toilets and luxury VIP trailers to showers, urinals and hand-wash facilities – getting them delivered, positioned and ready before the crowds arrive.

And then the real fun starts.

Our servicing teams and on-site attendants can be there throughout an event, cleaning, restocking, refilling and keeping everything running while everyone else gets on with having a brilliant time.

It’s not the most glamorous job on the event site.

Although our luxury trailers may have something to say about that.

It’s not just about the number of loos

A little bit of event wisdom from a team that’s been around the block a few times: getting the right facilities is only part of the planning. Having the right level of support on site matters too.

A busy event site can cover a lot of ground, and even our brilliant attendants haven’t yet mastered being in two places at once.

For larger events, having enough people on the ground means the team can keep on top of servicing, cleaning and restocking across the site throughout the day.

Our team can help organisers think through what’s realistic for the size, layout and expected footfall of their event – because a little planning behind the scenes can make a big difference once the gates open.

Keeping cool when things heated up

And this summer really did heat up.

Working outside through record-breaking temperatures isn’t easy when your day involves driving, loading, delivering, collecting, servicing and plenty of physical work.

But Team Simply did what Team Simply does.

People looked out for each other, adapted, kept things moving and somehow kept smiling through some seriously long, hot days.

There were early starts, late finishes, plenty of cold drinks and, we’re fairly certain, a record-breaking number of ice creams.

We’re incredibly proud of them.

Getting to know Team Simply

While all of that has been going on, we’ve also been introducing some of the people behind Simply Hire on our social channels.

And we’ve discovered quite a lot.

There’s a black belt in karate in our midst. A former Ayia Napa DJ who’s also spent more than 40 years coaching grassroots football. A qualified football referee. A shoe collection so big its owner has lost count.

And, of course, Dave and Charlie – our Chief Happiness Officers – have been keeping a very close eye on proceedings.

One thing kept coming through when we asked everyone about the team: friendly, supportive, fun, caring and reliable.

After this summer, we’d say that’s pretty spot on.

Summer’s not quite done… but Christmas is coming

The sun cream isn’t going away just yet, but event season never really stops at Simply.

Next up? Halloween events, fireworks nights, pop-up cinemas and then Christmas markets, festive events and all the winter fun that comes with them.

The shorts might be swapped for beanies, but behind the scenes it’ll be business as usual: bookings, deliveries, servicing, collections and Team Simply keeping everything moving.

Before we know it, we’ll be doing it all over again for summer 2027.

Every booking taken. Every van loaded. Every delivery made. Every unit serviced. Every toilet roll restocked. Every water refill. Every collection. Every last-minute problem solved.

It’s been a huge summer.
